Alpine Views in the Cascade Mountains Gallery
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings” John Muir
John Muir had a special connection with mountains. His writings sing the praises of being in the high country. Today many of us feel the same way, from climbers, naturalists, environmentalists, adventurers and of course photographers. Here in the Pacific Northwest we can easily travel into that high country in three wonderful National Parks and various other locations in the rugged Cascade Mountains. As a landscape photographer being able to spend time above tree line and in the alpine meadows provides much needed solitude and ample opportunities for capturing images.
The series of four books shown here are 11” x 8 1/2” linen hard cover with dust jacket. The pages are semi-gloss fine art layflat and printed with a giclee process. They are one-of-a-kind self-published and are available for purchase on special order.
Alpine Views in the Cascade Mountains is the subject of this book. It contains 16 images, many printed as two-page spreads. I have spent many days exploring Mount Rainier National Park and other high alpine areas including many nights camping in remote alpine meadows accessible only by traveling cross-country. These images represent those solitary peaceful times that I seek in my outdoor adventures.
