Landscapes. It contains 20 images and an essay. The ubiquitous landscape photograph taken of hundreds of iconic locations and printed on thousands of postcards. They are all well composed, have perfect lighting and accurately represent these beautiful places. I admit to have taken this type of image on many occasions. However this is not where my passion lies, for me it’s bringing my unique perspective to the place. As Guy Tal writes in his wonderful insightful book More Then A Rock: “Creativity requires something beyond objective qualities that are inherent in the subject, tools or circumstances- something subjective originating from the unique mind of the photographer that would not have existed had they not created it.” My hope is that these landscape images successfully accomplish this goal.
