In his day John Muir had the opportunity to travel through miles of unbroken forest wilderness and as we can see from his quote he it found life altering! Today we do not have that luxury, wilderness is limited and certainly not unbroken. However those of us living in the Pacific Northwest are lucky to have numerous old and second growth forest wilderness within a short drive. As a wilderness lover and photographer I travel into these special locations as often as possible and find, I believe, the same joy that John Muir found. That experience is the ultimate goal and creating images that represent it is secondary.
My aim then is to create unique appealing images but also to show these magical places as they are which sometimes even includes embracing the chaos.
I hope this gallery gives a small sense of the wonder and mystery found deep within a forest wilderness.
