Winter Mountains Gallery
Winter is the time of year many of us dread, its cold, wet, dark and here at the Mountain very snowy. However, to the photographer who seeks simple elemental patterns and shapes winter is a blessing. Snow rounds the shapes and hide much of the complicated topography. To me winter symbolizes struggle, triumph and unique beauty.
The images in this gallery are mostly taken in the Cascade Mountains and represent stark reality of the stormy climate and deep snow. These conditions make travel, camping and photography difficult but the results are well worth the effort. .
